Layout Features of A Newspaper

Here I have labelled the specific parts of the layout of a newspaper which most or every news paper has to have on the front page.


Logo - The Companies picture.



Masthead - The masthead is the title of the newspaper.

Headline - A headline tells us what the article is about.

Menu - The list of contents inside the paper.

Website - The newspapers website made for people to visit and read stories online.

Jumpline - A jumpline tells us where to find the rest of the story.

Caption - A caption gives us more information about a photo eg. who is in it and when.

Photo - Some stories are accompanied by a photo to attract readers and to give more information.

Article - Information in newspapers is written in articles - the lead story on the front of the paper is usually called a Splash.
